Alexander R. Arifianto is a Research Fellow with the Indonesia Programme, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He earned his PhD in political science from Arizona State University in August 2012. Previously, he was a Visiting Fellow with the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) and at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA. Dr. Arifianto’s ongoing projects include research on comparative politics of Southeast Asia, decentralization and local politics of Indonesia, and political Islam in Indonesia.
